## Description

Barn Rush is a top-down time-attack collectathon roguelite set on a pixel-art farm. Gather food in 15-second rounds, haul it back to the barn, and bank it before the buzzer. Cutting it close? Food still on your back when the buzzer sounds counts too. You only move and dash. Between rounds, you draft upgrades that change how you gather, carry and bank.

Rounds come in sets of five, and each set has a Harvest Goal: the Feed you bank across all five rounds. The fifth is a 45-second Gauntlet Round with one of six game-changing challenges. Meet the Harvest Goal to keep the run going and secure your Feed, then take a Silver Chest or spin the Hay Wheel for a shot at gold. No combat: the challenge is in your routing and your upgrade choices.

The free demo arrives Friday, October 16, 2026 for Steam Next Fest on Windows, macOS and Linux. It includes the first Era, 50 rounds, on Very Easy through Normal. The full game releases November 16, 2026.

## About the Developer

Barn Rush is made by Joe, a solo independent developer based in Rochester, New York, publishing as gumballandmoo.

## Features

- 15-second rounds; every fifth is a 45-second Gauntlet Round with one of six game-changing challenges.
- 65+ draftable upgrade cards (68 currently): Wooden Chests offer stackable boosts, Silver Chests add new mechanics, and rare Gold Chests change the rules. Pin, banish or reroll Wooden offers; pin Silver ones.
- The Hay Wheel: after each Harvest Goal, keep your guaranteed Silver Chest or gamble it on a spin for a shot at a gold slice. Play it safe or chase a game-changer: your run, your call.
- Ten Harvests make an Era: 50 rounds. In the full game you can choose to carry on into the next Era, New Game+ style: back to Round 1 with every upgrade you've earned, but more challenges, more goblins and steeper Harvest Goals.
- Full-game cosmetics: 17 animals, animal colors, planned hats, and four field themes: Summer Day, Autumn, Winter and Evening.
- Five full-game difficulties, from Very Easy to Very Hard. The demo includes Very Easy, Easy and Normal.
- Need to stop? Save from Pause and pick your run back up later.
- Farm profiles for everyone in the house, each with its own Records, run charts and lifetime stats. Steam Cloud carries your farms to any computer or Steam Deck you play on.
- Every run earns Feed. Spend it mid-run on upgrades to push that run further, or end the run whenever you like and take your Feed home to spend on your farm: animals, colors, hats and more. No microtransactions, no pay-to-win.
- A chiptune soundtrack by Abstraction, and goblins that eat your food (then need a nap).

20 full-resolution screenshots from October 18 (the current build; draft, wheel and Golden Egg offers are staged, and the Trading Post, Archives and RUN OVER numbers are illustrative), the current transparent logo, and the seven current Steam store/library images accompany the HTML press page. Seven October 18 silent loops, rendered at full resolution, are available as MP4 previews and downloadable GIFs: the gather/haul/deposit loop, At the Buzzer, Chest drafts, the Hay Wheel jackpot, a build gone wild, all four demo animals across the seasons, and household Records. Draft offers and the gold wheel result are staged in the game; At the Buzzer slows down around the buzzer so the last-second grabs are easy to follow; Records uses illustrative test farms rather than player scores.
